About Affordable Rentals
Based in our Darwin office the Affordable Housing department consists of four team members dedicated to working with the NT Government to provide affordable renting options to eligible Territorians with access to modern, comfortable housing 30% below the current market rent.
To be apply you must meet a number of conditions. These conditions include but are not limited to;
· You must meet income limits to be eligible
· At least one household member must be employed
· Whether you can provide proof of identification
· You must be able to show you can make regular rental payments
All applications are assessed for indicators of rental stress meaning weekly rent can be no more than 30% of your combined gross (before tax) weekly income including any business income, Centrelink benefits, dividends, maintenance payments etc. The percentage will vary depending on the weekly rent.
As part of your application you will be required to submit proof of income from all income earners residing in the property. This must be supplied by way of 8 weeks of payslips, ATO tax notice of assessment, Centrelink Statements and bank statements.
